It is based in particular on South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and on the Digital Code of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ordinance-Law No. 23/010 of 13 March 2023).

2.2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers the meduc.tech website. The MeducAHT and EMS applications have their own privacy notices, presented in each application before any data is collected. These notices set out the rules that apply to data processed as part of those services.

2.3. Data we process

  • Technical browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time of connection. This is recorded automatically by our servers and our content delivery network, for security purposes and to keep the website running properly.

The website does not ask you for any health data. Please do not send medical information by email.

  • Ensuring the security, availability and performance of the website (legitimate interest);
  • Complying with our legal and regulatory obligations.

Providing your contact details is optional; without them, however, we cannot reply to you. Your data is never sold or used for advertising purposes.

2.5. Recipients

Your data is accessible only to authorised members of the Meduc GM SA team and its subsidiary Meduc GM SARL who need it to handle your request, and to our technical service providers, strictly within the limits of their mission:

  • Hostinger International Ltd — hosting of the website and email;
  • Google — provision of the fonts displayed on the website, which involves sending your IP address to its servers.

2.6. International transfers

The website and email are hosted on servers located in the European Union, which has a data protection regime at least equivalent to those of South Africa and the DRC. Any other transfer outside your country of residence takes place only to recipients offering an adequate level of protection, in accordance with section 72 of POPIA and the Digital Code.

2.7. Retention period

Technical logs are kept for a limited period, as needed for website security. Correspondence is kept for as long as it takes to handle your request and for no more than three years after our last exchange, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
