EMS — Elite Medical Syndicate

The communication and continuing-education app for health professionals. Training, secure e-prescribing, patient transfer, research and exam preparation: EMS strengthens the capacity of healthcare providers and protects patients against counterfeit medicines and quackery.

What EMS is not: EMS is neither a diagnostic application, nor a medical device, nor a teleconsultation service for patients. It is an information, communication, training and coordination tool reserved for health professionals: medical decisions, diagnosis and prescribing remain the sole responsibility of the professional.

Why EMS

Quality care starts with well-trained, well-informed professionals.

Counterfeit medicines, illegal practice of medicine, outdated protocols, limited access to continuing education: these realities put patients at risk every day and undermine trust in the health system.

EMS gives health professionals a single space to train, verify, stay up to date and exchange — anywhere, including far from major urban centres.

What EMS offers

Ten services at the heart of medical practice.

Reserved for verified health professionals, EMS services cover the entire professional journey: training, verifying, prescribing, referring, publishing and advancing.

Continuing education

Training pathways designed for the realities of African practice, available on mobile, even with limited connectivity.

  • Short modules by specialty: doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, technicians
  • Clinical cases, quizzes and end-of-module assessments
  • Certificates of course completion

Medicines directory

A reference database to identify compliant medicines and spot counterfeit or unregistered products.

  • Search by brand name, molecule or therapeutic class
  • Usual dosages, contraindications and major interactions
  • Reporting of suspicious products

Secure e-prescribing

Authenticated digital prescriptions, sent directly to the pharmacy, putting an end to forged or illegible prescriptions.

  • Electronically signed prescription with a unique prescriber identifier
  • Instant verification by the pharmacist
  • Traceable dispensing, access restricted to authorised professionals

Secure patient transfer

A structured pathway to refer a patient to another facility, with the right information at the right time.

  • Standardised transfer form and confidential exchange between teams
  • Advance notice to the receiving facility
  • Tracking of the patient’s arrival and feedback to the referring clinician

Up-to-date emergency protocols

Emergency management guidelines, regularly reviewed and available offline, for when every minute counts.

  • Obstetric, paediatric, trauma and medical emergencies
  • Summary sheets that can be consulted in seconds
  • Updates flagged as soon as they are published

Medical procedures

Step-by-step guides to standardise and secure clinical procedures, from health centre to hospital.

  • Illustrated step-by-step procedures
  • Checklists before and after the procedure
  • Good practice in hygiene and patient safety

Publication of scientific research

A space to showcase the work of African researchers and practitioners, for the benefit of the whole community.

  • Publication of articles, dissertations, theses and field experience
  • Peer review
  • Visibility with institutions and partners

Exam preparation

Structured support to succeed in specialisation entrance exams, senior examinations and international certifications.

  • Question banks and timed mock exams
  • Revision programmes by discipline
  • Preparation for national and international examinations

Conferences & webinars

Scientific meetings in person and online, to share advances and break the isolation of healthcare workers.

  • Expert webinars and Q&A sessions
  • Congresses and scientific days
  • Replays available to members

Professional communication

A reliable channel for sharing health alerts and official information within the medical community.

  • Health alerts and batch recalls
  • Announcements from authorities and professional councils
  • Peer-to-peer exchange and professional network

Against counterfeit medicines and quackery

Protecting patients, recognising genuine professionals.

  • Verifiable medicines — a reference directory to identify compliant products.
  • Recognised professionals — a community of verified practitioners.
  • Harmonised practice — protocols and procedures shared by all.
